Plans and Policies

The University has a number of plans and polices that drive how it manages and looks after its heritage places and sites.  These polices are driven by legislation at all levels of government (Commonwealth, State, Territory and Local) and by best practice in heritage management.  The following documents outline the principles, goals and objectives and timeframes for these goals in the University's heritage management program.

ANU Heritage Management Manual (258 KB)

ANU Heritage Administration Goals 2006-2008 (127 KB)

ANU Heritage Strategy 2009-2011 (243 KB)

A Conservation Management Plan (CMP) is a document that sets out the significant heritage aspects of a place, and details the appropriate policies to manage it, so that its values are retained for future use and appreciation.  Draft and completed Conservation Management Plans can be found here.
